Jesus is the Light of the World
In the gospel of John in chapter 1, we learn that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This word of God is Jesus whereby all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John the Baptist, a man sent by God, came as a witness to testify about the Light, so that through John’s testimony everyone might believe. John was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. The true Light, Jesus, offers light to all of mankind.
